November 5 : Sandia Crest Trail Hike
This hike will begin at the northern trailhead in Placitas and end at its southern terminus in Tijeras Canyon, a total of 26 miles. This is considered a strenuous/difficult hike as there is 4400 ft. of elevation to the crest. Plan on a 10 -12 hour trek to complete the entire length of the trail, or stop halfway at the crest house. Bring plenty of water as the crest house is the only resupply point along the trail.
