Team Dirt Junkies ( Gavin Flury and Rich Capener ) placed 5th in the Duo Open category out of 72 teams.  We had been training hard over the previous 7 weeks and went in with a game plan for 16 laps.  The weather could have not been better this year compared to last year. We were targeting lap times of 1:30 or less.  Both of us were riding strong and keeping our lap times at around 1:20 and sustaining that pace throughout the race.  We ended up finnishing 18 laps at 16 miles each for a total of 290 miles.  This moved us up from 10th to 5th and a poduim spot.  Not bad considering it was Rich's first 24 hour race and first place was only 2 laps away at 20.   Race results, times, and photos can be seen at www.epicrides.com   Click the race results or for race photos follow the freezeframefoto link.  Enter team number 243 for pictures of Team Dirt Junkies.   - Gavin Flury
